Playing in front of the home crowd for the first time this season, the Williamstown Lady Demons split a pair of hard-fought battles with visiting Carroll Co.

 

Williamstown gave its all for four full quarters, but came up short, 32-24, in the seventh-grade game, while the Lady Demons got even with an impressive 29-15 rout in eighth-grade action.

 

7TH GRADE

Carroll Co. 32, WMS 24

 

Williamstown did some impressive things, including scoring 10 points in the final quarter.

 

Emma Gutman led Williamstown in scoring with nine points, including eight in the final six minutes while hitting all six of her free throw attempts. Ryan Parsons was next with seven, five of those coming in the first half.

 

Haley Middleton was next for the Lady Demons with three points, followed by Breanna Beach and Delaney Kemper with two each, and Tabi Jordan with one.

8TH GRADE

WMS 29, Carroll 15

 

Justice Chambers and Kiki Johnson provided a potent one-two punch for the Lady Demons, combining for 22 points, seven more than the entire Carroll Co. team.

 

Both Chambers and Johnson finished with 11 each. Chambers scored nine of her 11 in the second half, including six in the third quarter. Johnson scored six of her 11 in the fourth quarter.

 

Haley Middleton scored three points for the winners, followed by Emma Gutman and Ryan Parsons with two each.
