The 22-0 win was also the second biggest margin of victory for the program in the last 13 seasons, ranking second only to a 24-0 win on May 16, 2012 against Sayre High School.

Williamstown, which has won two of its last four games, is currently 2-4 overall with games scheduled this week against district rivals Grant Co. and Walton Verona. The next chance for local fans to catch the Lady Demons in action at home will be on Thursday, April 17 when Walton Verona visits town.

Gallatin Co. 11, Williamstown 0

Disappointed with their exit from the All A Classic one win short of the regional championship game, the Lady Demons still had plenty to be optimistic about after showing vast improvement in multiple areas compared to how they played in their season opener against the same team a month earlier.

Williamstown allowed Gallatin to score runs in only two innings this time around, compared to all five innings in the earlier meeting. The Lady Demons also made contact with twice as many pitches this time compared to the season opener.

"The girls played well, but did not show the improvements that they have made in the last few games," said Williamstown Coach Katie McLafferty. "If they can gain confidence to make the plays they have proven in games that they can make, they will be a tough team."

Williamstown had just one hit in the game on a single by Delaney Kemper. She also had a walk.

The Lady Demons were most impressive on defense where Haley Middleton had five put outs, followed by Kristine Robertson with two.

After the game, Emmalie Hankinson and Jade Pinkston were announced as members of the All A Classic All Region 8 Team for their efforts in the small school tournament.
