Win or lose, there is never a lack of excitement when the Williamstown Lady Demons take the floor.
In their season-opener against regional power Gallatin, the Lady Demons erased a 20-point deficit before falling by one in the closing seconds. Game two at Owen Co. was just as exciting when Williamstown came from behind in the final two minutes for a win. And following the same trend, it took overtime to settle the score when the Lady Demons traveled to Pendleton Co. on Saturday.
Despite having three players score in double digits, and five others put points on the board, Williamstown came up short, 82-75, in the road meeting with the 10th Region Lady Cats.
Williamstown got 20 points from sophomore point guard Michaela Kennedy, and 16 each from juniors Katie Cheek and Rachel Montgomery. The game was the first extended action for Montgomery, who is working her way back from an injury.
