Two players recorded double-doubles and three others scored in double digits to lead the Williamstown Lady Demons to a dominating 81-42 win over Ludlow in the J.T. Mulligan Classic at Lloyd Memorial High School on Saturday.

One game after each scored their 1,000th career points, senior Rachel Montgomery and junior Michaela Kennedy were still in high gear and combined for 36 points. Montgomery led the way with a 20-point, 10-rebound performance in which she hit 9-of-10 shots, while Kennedy hit for 16 points while connecting on 4-of-6 from 3-point territory.

Junior center Sydney Taylor came up huge in the paint with a double-double of 11 points and 12 rebounds while hitting all four of her shot attempts.

Underclassmen Justice Chambers and Haley Howe were once again major contributors for the Lady Demons and are emerging as players to watch in the 8th Region with their early-season play. Chambers, a freshman, was a perfect 6-for-6 from the field while scoring 14 points. Howe, a sophomore, was

nearly perfect from the field, hitting 6-of-7 shot attempts to finish with 13 points. Both players hit a 3-pointer in the game.

Senior Katie Cheek rounded out the Lady Demons' scoring with seven points to go with five rebounds and 10 assists.  Jenna Johnson and Olivia Souder each did their share on the boards with Souder pulling down five rebounds and Johnson three.

The Lady Demons were on fire from the field, hitting an impressive 67 percent of their shots (32 of 48), which was likely what Coach A.J. Mason had in mind when he commented after the previous game that the team expected to shoot the ball better than it had in the win over Owen Co.

Williamstown was especially sharp from long range, hitting 7-of-10 from 3-point range as a team. The Lady Demons were good on 10-of-17 from the charity stripe.

The win brings Williamstown's season record to 3-0, the first such start for the program in at least the last two decades.

Williamstown will be back in action on Friday, Dec. 11, at home at 8 p.m. to face Pendleton Co.
